How volunteering helped me get a job
Hannah Holden left her job in the law sector to devote time to volunteering and gaining practical skills that would lead to a career in forestry. She is now a Forestry Assistant at the Harewood Estate in West Yorkshire after successfully applying to the Royal Forestry Society’s (RFS) Forestry Roots Scheme.

RFS Education and Learning Excellence Award 2021
Coleg Glynllifon Further Education College, Gwynedd, has won the award with their Level 2 & 3 BTECs Countryside and Forestry courses. Second place went to the School of Natural Sciences, Bangor University, for two part-time MSc on-line courses. A Certificate of Merit was awarded to Nature’s Classroom, Creggan Country Park, Derry.
