Why Woodland Management Matters
The Royal Forestry Society is delighted to support the Forestry Commission’s new Woodland Management Matters campaign.
The campaign aims to help more owners develop management plans to bring their woodland into sustainable management. View the campaign video here and visit Forestry Commission’s Woodland Management Matters pages for more information, resources and case studies.
Around 40% of woodland in England is unmanaged. The RFS believes managed woodlands enhance habitat diversity and better protects trees from pests and diseases. Woods which produce sustainable timber, wood fuel and other products are better for nature conservation, better for people and better for the economy. See our policies here.
