Age: KS4 and KS5 (age 14 - 18) Suitable for: GCSE and A Level Fieldwork as well as independent investigations. Originally created by the Sylva Foundation, this resource is now hosted by the Forest Education Network for England (FENE).
Age: 14+ The Birmingham Institute of Forest Research at the University of Birmingham (BIFoR) offers a virtual visit to a woodland which is also home to the BIFoR FACE facility one of the world's largest climate change experiments. Visitors can take a virtual walk around the woodland, finding out information about forest ecosystems, the range of measurements we are taking and the role of forests in climate change mitigation. There is also access to teaching materials to support GCSE/ A Level teaching of climate change, carbon and water cycles.
Age: 11 - 14 Create a poster or write an essay discussing the impacts of urbanisation on British woodlands in this activity from the Woodland Trust.
