Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) – London & Middlesex Division

Our host for the morning will be James Burton the RBKC’s Senior Tree Officer assisted by our Honorary Secretary Angus Morrison. We will start in the area around Sloane Square looking at some of the more unusual street trees and James will talk about the challenges of finding sites for, and establishing, new trees. Please assemble outside Sloane Square underground station at 1045 for an 1100 start. The walking tour will last approximately 1.5-2 hours covering only a mile or so on flat surfaces. We would strongly recommend you use public transport as parking is scarce and very expensive.

Pre-visit information

In the light of COVID 19, we urge all members to read our COVID 19 guideline notes before attending woodland meetings.  In addition, as an educational charity, the RFS must lead by example on the biosecurity measures recommended by the Forestry Commission (FC) and Defra to minimise the risk of spreading soil-borne tree infections. You can make a difference to stopping the spread of tree diseases. Clean boots are a first step!  For further information, please click here
