Miserden Estate, Stroud – Gloucestershire Division

The main topic of the day will be to explore the merits of a community heating chip boiler system and discuss how to manage and replant Ash Dieback sites.

Our hosts will be Major Tom Wills and Nicholas Wills. The first part of the morning will cover the main aspects of establishing a community heating system fuelled from Estate timber. We’ll discuss associated solutions and challenges managing such a system. We’ll visit an Ash Dieback harvesting site and consider management solutions for replacement species and the subsequent aftercare management. After lunch, the Divisional AGM will be held in the Glasshouse café. There may also be an opportunity to see the tallest tree in Gloucestershire.
