Conversion of estate grown timber and restocking of clear-fell sites followed by visit to estate gardens.
The visit will begin at the estate sawmill. Later we will look at Old Bargains Wood to discuss the restocking of a clear-fell site with broadleaves and conifers as a nurse crop, along with thinning and respacing in a Continuous Cover stand of conifers. The extensive gardens, renown for their magnificent azaleas, will be available to visit in the afternoon.
