Thyroid diseases: signs and treatment

To date, medical statistics, unfortunately, states an increase in the number of diseases associated with thyroid dysfunction among toddlers. Such pathologies can be caused by heredity, stress, iodine deficiency in the diet, and living in an area "disadvantaged" by the iodine factor. Why do I need a thyroid gland? This small organ in our body plays a huge role. Here there is the production of special thyroid hormones: triiodothyranin and tetraiodothyranin (aka thyroxine). Perhaps there is not a single chemical process, wherever these components are involved. They are involved in metabolism, contribute to the optimal functioning of the cardiac and muscular apparatus, without them normal brain activity and cell maturation are impossible. And in order for all this to go smoothly, such a trace element as iodine is needed. It is he who is the precursor of thyroid hormones and if there is a deficiency of it, iron, trying to compensate for the lack of iodine, begins to increase in size, then doctors talk about diseases such as hypo- and hyperparathyroidism. Also, the body may begin to produce antibodies against the thyroid gland, in which case thyroiditis may begin. The main symptoms of the disease, how do you still determine whether a child has similar problems? First of all, watch the baby, if you notice symptoms such as weakness, lethargy, fatigue, increased nervousness, swelling of the face and legs - this should alert you. Hormonal dysfunction can also be characterized by conditions such as insomnia and fever, or vice versa, drowsiness and a feeling of heat. However, such symptoms are inherent in many diseases that have nothing to do with the thyroid gland. Therefore, do not invent terrible diagnoses for your child, but go to an endocrinologist.Diagnostics at the reception, the doctor will ask you in detail about the symptoms that are bothering the baby, conduct a palpation - examination of the thyroid gland by probing, and prescribe ultrasound and blood tests. As soon as the results of the examination are ready, the doctor will be able to see the full clinical picture and, if there are any violations, will prescribe treatment for your toddler. In no case do not delay the treatment and do not think that everything will go away on its own. The further you start the disease, the more it will progress, and in this case the consequences may already be irreversible! As a rule, the doctor prescribes therapy depending on the diagnosis. If the child has an increased function of the gland, that is, hyperthyroidism, then iodine preparations will be prescribed and a special diet will be prescribed. With reduced thyroid function, or hypothyroidism, hormone replacement therapy will be recommended. If everything is fine with the gland, then the child will be prescribed anti-inflammatory drugs in combination with thyroidin.Do not be afraid that the baby will have to take hormonal medications for a while. It will be much worse if this disease is not treated. You will also have to make several adjustments to the life of the toddler and your own: postpone the rest on the beach, because it is harmful for the baby to sunbathe, try to minimize all factors that negatively affect the nervous system of the child. In addition, you need to put up with frequent visits to the doctor and regular examinations, as this is necessary in order to track the dynamics of the disease. Каннабис играл важную, хотя и в значительной степени непризнанную роль в Британской империи, где стало возможным купить семена канабиса (Mills 2005). Британцы узнали о курении каннабиса от своих индийских подданных, в частности от ирландского врача.
