Grow your skills and network with the RFS Spencer Bursary. Applications are now open for up to five bursaries. If you’re a student or recent graduate, you may apply for up to £150 of grant funding to attend a training event or a woodland meeting that is a long distance for you.

Eligible events include:

  • 20 November: The NDG James Memorial Lecture at Trinity College Oxford with Dr Eleanor Tew: “Forest Resilience: what does it mean in practice?”
  • 4 & 5 March: Woods for Tomorrow: bringing woods into management
  • 28 April: Essential Guide to caring for your wood
  • 3 June: An Introduction to Soil Identification for Foresters
  • 18 June: The Woodland Carbon Code: A Practical Guide

The bursary must be used to pay for entry into an RFS event, with the rest of the money used for travel and subsistence costs on the day of the event.
