Dysgu am Goed is a pilot project in partnership with Tir Coed, delivering fun and focussed learning for primary schools in local woods in Wales.

The initial roll out is in Ceredigion with the support of LEADER funding and Ceredigion County Council, the generosity of RFS Member Roger Eaton and other local RFS Members and woodland owners.  It is hoped the pilot will lead to a wider roll out across Wales.

Dysgu am Goed delivers free two hour sessions to Ceredigion schools in their local woods in Welsh or in English. More on how to contact Dysgu am Goed here

Dysgu am Goed aims to:

  • link primary schools to local woods and local environment/heritage
  • deliver curriculum linked activities to Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 incorporating memorable activities which help children make the links between actively managing woods and benefits for trees, wildlife, people and timber
  • encourage learning in the outdoors
  • be flexible to meet school priorities
