What’s on?

This is a fantastic opportunity for schools and children to learn about what happens in a modern, working woodland. See at first hand what goes on in a woodland, where timber comes from and the uses it can be put to as well as the vital role trees and woods play in the environment and helping reduce climate change. The event is a showcase for all the latest state-of-art machinery and equipment and it is a great chance to see the career opportunities that exist in forestry in electronics, hydraulics, computers, surveying and many other jobs. We have come a long way from a man with an axe!

Each group will receive

• A transport bursary of up to £300 to cover the cost of getting the children to APF.
• Free tickets for the children from your school and their accompanying adults.
• An experienced RFS Education Officer to guide your group around the show and help them to explore all that it has to offer.
• Lots of ideas on how you can follow up what you’ve seen at APF with forestry related learning back in your school.
