Overview
Microsite is a tree planting company, seeking a dedicated and innovative Social Value Lead to maximize, measure, record, and report the social value of our business activity. This role is essential in driving community engagement, building partnerships, and promoting sustainable practices that enhance the impact our business has on both the local community and our internal culture.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Develop and implement strategies to maximize the social value of business activities.
Engage with the community through events, workshops, and volunteer opportunities to foster connection and participation.
Collect, analyse, and present data on social value, including writing annual social value reports and creating engaging social media content.
Form, organize, and manage volunteer groups to support woodland activities and initiatives.
Take the lead on Microsite’s internal social value efforts, including employee welfare and leading a “Promoting Opportunities” initiative for staff development.
Create and maintain partnerships with local organizations and groups to collaborate on impactful projects.
Identify creative and innovative ways to increase the social value of community woodlands (e.g., improving signage, accessibility, installing footfall counters, conducting community surveys, developing educational programs, and leveraging technology).
Plan and execute community activities and events that showcase the value of what we do and encourage sustainable use.
Required Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with diverse community members and stakeholders.
Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively
Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovative approaches to social value.
Knowledge of social value measurement and sustainability principles.
Familiarity with tools that enhance engagement and impact measurement, such as social media platforms.
Preferred Experience
A degree in environmental science, social sciences, community development, or a related field.
Experience in the environmental, community development, or non-profit sector.
Experience in event planning and project management.
Experience in community engagement, partnership building, and volunteer coordination.
