Job Description

We are looking for a permanent part-time GIS Technician to join our team (minimum 16 hours per week). Working closely with our survey and administration teams, you will provide dedicated GIS and IT support across the business. Your work will include data processing, map production, spatial analysis, and contributing to ongoing development of our GIS systems and processes.

Key Work Areas

Provide GIS support across all projects, managing and processing spatial data to high standards.

Produce maps, charts, reports, and spatial visualisations for both internal use and client reporting.

Assist with the development and delivery of GIS solutions across the business.

Offer general IT support to the wider team as needed.

Participate in field-based surveys to support forestry operations.

Undertake project-specific GIS work as directed by the Management team.

Support continuous improvement of geospatial workflows.

Training will be provided on company systems and ongoing development is encouraged.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Experience using GIS software (preferably ArcGIS or similar).

High level of IT competency, especially with Microsoft Office tools.

Proven ability to produce high-quality maps, reports, and spatial analysis.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Confident communicator in both verbal and written formats.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.

Problem-solving mindset with a patient and adaptable approach.

Geospatial, environmental, or land-based degree – or equivalent experience in a geospatial role.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Criteria

Programming experience (e.g. Python, SQL).

Experience with remote sensing or GIS automation workflows.

Salary and Benefits

Salary starting from £28,500 per annum (pro rata), dependent on experience.

Permanent part-time position (minimum 16 hours per week).
