What You’ll Do
Based within the Tree Team at Westonbirt you will be part of a team of seven responsible for Arboriculture Operations. The arborist work closely with other staff members to develop and ensure the health of the Arboretum’s flora species.
Where You’ll Work
Westonbirt, The National Arboretum is one of the most beautiful and important plant collections in the world. First laid out in the 1800s following Picturesque landscape principles, the collection contains more than 15,000 specimens representing 2,500 taxa from all over the temperate world. The arboretum plays an important role in research
and conservation, and the collection currently includes more than 100 species of global conservation concern.
The arboretum is one of the largest pay-to-enter visitor attractions in the Southwest, welcoming over 550,000 visitors per year. The onsite businesses and events generate a turnover more than £14m which enables the arboretum to pursue its vision to be ‘a world leader in trees inspiring people through conservation, education and participation’, while operating on a break-even basis.
