FENE Outdoor Learning Participant Survey
Grant for Supported Training 2023
Award in Curriculum Based Outdoor Learning Practice
Section 1.
Introduction
Thanks to a generous grant from the Forestry Commission, the Forest Education Network for England (FENE) teamed up with Cambium Sustainable to provide ‘Curriculum Based Outdoor Learning Practice’ training courses across nine different locations in England. As a receiver of a grant for this training, we aim to equip you as a practitioner to take groups of children and young people into woods and forests within their communities. As a condition of grant funding and to gain insights into how the training has been received by participants, the Royal Forestry Society is administering research and evaluation on behalf of FENE. The intention is to report findings to the Quarterly Journal of Forestry in the Autumn. A number of evaluation activities will take place as part of this including surveys, interviews, case studies and group feedback.
The purpose of this survey is to find out more information about you, as a participant, your reasons for taking part in the training and understand your experience of the direct training delivery. We plan another survey once you have completed your paperwork and received accreditation. We do ask for your contact details as part of the core feedback on the training as it a condition of the grant, however your involvement in broader evaluation activities is optional. There is space at the end of the survey to indicate this.
All data will be treated in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation. You can find Privacy Policy on rfs.org.uk/privacy and this explains how RFS processes and stores your data. Fiona Groves will be the lead researcher acting as an agent for RFS.
This is a short survey and should take you up to 20 minutes to complete. Responses are required by 12:00 noon 19th June 2023. Many thanks for taking the time to complete the survey.
