Tutors: David McCulloch, Head of CarbonStore and Alex MacKinnon, Carbon Project Manager, CarbonStore - bring you a comprehensive guide to every aspect associated with securing carbon funding through the Woodland Carbon Code.

Adstockfields Farm, Adstock, Buckingham, MK18 2JE

The course will provide a comprehensive explanation of every aspect associated with securing carbon funding through the Woodland Carbon Code. From registering your prospective woodland with the Woodland Carbon Code before planting starts to selling the carbon credits once it has been validated and/or verified, the course will equip you with all the information you need to understand what work is required, what costs are involved and how long it takes.

We will explain the steps involved with registration, validation and verification, the various forms that you need to sign, and the implications of those forms. In addition, we will outline the costs you should expect to complete the registration, validation and verification of your woodland.

Following the course, you will be well placed to decide whether to sell your woodland carbon credits as Pending Issuance Units (PIUs) or Woodland Carbon Units (WCUs), the strengths and weaknesses of the two options and how you might blend these options to optimise your risk/reward balance. We will also look at developments across the market that will help you maximise the value of your PIUs and WCUs.
