Sykes Timber Merchants – Midlands Division
Visit to Sykes Timber Merchants, Atherstone, hosted by the Sykes family. This family owned and run business has been operating for over 160 years in supplying softwood and hardwood. We will visit the Sykes' own woodland to look at thinning, felling and restocking, followed by a tour of the mill. Come and see the mill in operation, take a tour of the newly-constructed timber museum, and try your hand at identification with over 70 species of cut timber!
For more information regarding this meeting please contact the local Honorary Secretary, Cheryl Lundberg, on Cheryl.Lundberg@lgluk.com
Pre-visit information
In the light of COVID 19, we urge all members to read our COVID 19 guideline notes before attending woodland meetings. In addition, as an educational charity, the RFS must lead by example on the biosecurity measures recommended by the Forestry Commission (FC) and Defra to minimise the risk of spreading soil-borne tree infections. You can make a difference to stopping the spread of tree diseases. Clean boots are a first step! For further information, please click here
