One of four First World War Centenary woods created by the Woodland Trust with areas of ancient woodland.
A 260ha farm purchased in 2014 as one of Woodland Trusts First World War centenary sites. About 40% is planted as new woodland, while there are also areas of ancient woodland, and retention of important areas of open habitat.
