Bradgate Park and Swithland Wood National Nature Reserve – Midlands Division
A special opportunity to receive a guided tour of this attractive and interesting site, managed by the educational and heritage charity, the Bradgate Park Trust. To include Divisional AGM.
In the morning we’ll visit Swithland Wood, an ancient woodland managed by the Bradgate Park Trust and managed under a 10 year management plan with coppice rotation. We shall also visit Alblaster Hay, where a new woodland was planted in winter 2022/23 thanks to a National Forest grant. We’ll go to the Deer Barns for lunch and the AGM. After lunch we will visit key areas of ancient and veteran trees to discuss their management.
For more information regarding this meeting please contact the local Honorary Secretary, Cheryl Lundberg, on cheryl@robinson-forestry.co.uk
Pre-visit information
In the light of COVID 19, we urge all members to read our COVID 19 guideline notes before attending woodland meetings. In addition, as an educational charity, the RFS must lead by example on the biosecurity measures recommended by the Forestry Commission (FC) and Defra to minimise the risk of spreading soil-borne tree infections. You can make a difference to stopping the spread of tree diseases. Clean boots are a first step! For further information, please click here
