Tree Health - pests & diseases - RFS one day training course

Location:  Hockeridge & Pancake Woods and The Old School, Ashley Green, Bucks

About:  This course is designed to provide delegates with the skills and understanding to identify the common tree pests and diseases in the UK and to provide options and discussion on ways we can mitigate the damage caused by them.  The day will be split in two, with the morning session covering the theory portion including presentations and discussion,.  The afternoon will be practical session in Hockeridge and Pancake woods where the RFS has over 50 specimen trees and a diverse range of commercial conifer and broadleaf stands. The wood is 74ha in the Chilterns on the Bucks / Herts county boundary. The woods are ancient but have been replanted since the 1950s.

Duration: 09.30am to 4.15pm

Price: £75.00 RFS members / £85.00 non RFS members

Note: Course attendees are advised to bring packed lunch as lunch is not provided. Tea, coffee, water and biscuits will be provided on arrival and at suitable breaks in the classroom sessions.

About the tutor:

Adam Sharman is an Arboricultural Consultant at Pryor & Rickett Silviculture.  Previously he was a Lecturer in Forestry and Arboriculture, Countryside Management and Agriculture at Moulton College, Northamptonshire. He graduated from the University of Northampton with a BSc in Arboriculture in 2014.
