Learning and Outreach Support Officer

 

This new part-time Support Officer post has been created to provide administrative support for our RFS Learning and Outreach Programme.

Trees and woodlands provide us with so many benefits for the economy, for our health and wellbeing and for our environment and they have never had a more important role to play to mitigate the negative impacts of our rapidly changing climate. But our trees and woodlands are facing multiple, serious threats including a lack of people with the skills and knowledge needed to properly care for trees. Our Learning and Outreach Programme aims to:

  • Attract a diverse pool of talent into forestry courses and careers.
  • Develop and implement a learning pathway from primary to GCSE to further education and into forestry employment.

We are looking for someone with an eye for detail, who has practical experience with outdoor learning, education and student engagement. We need someone who can confidently communicate our RFS education outreach offer to our target audiences (including schools, colleges and universities) and provide administrative support to the Learning and Outreach Manager and her team of Teaching Trees Education Officers. Location

The Royal Forestry Society HQ, The Hay Barns, Home Farm Drive, Upton Estate, Banbury, OX15 6HU or home based (but with regular meetings at the RFS HQ).

Salary

Part-time, 21 hours a week; £13,200 (equivalent to £22,000 FTE)
