Whinlatter Forest

Whinlatter Forest. Known as England's only mountain forest, Whinlatter is situated in the heart of the Lake District, Cumbria. It was one of the first acquisitions by the Forestry Commission and tree planting dates from 1920. It is now one of the most diverse and popular woodlands in the region, with over 200,000 people visiting each year for a range of outdoor and educational activities. Whinlatter Forest was the perfect location for our Forestry and Woodlands Careers Week 2016.
