Randle Travel Fund - apply by 10 March 2010

Date Issued: 03 January 2010

Through the generosity of the Trustees of the Donald Randle Trust, the Royal Forestry Society (RFS) is able to offer two bursaries for 2010, each worth £500.

The bursary for travel overseas will be offered to an individual to cover part or all of their subsistence and travel costs for individual trips abroad specifically designed to enhance their forestry knowledge.

The second bursary will be offered to an individual who wishes to attend The Commonwealth Forestry Conference (CFC) in Edinburgh from Monday 28 June, through to Friday 2 July 2010. See www.cfc2010.org for details. This is a major international event, and the £500 bursary is towards the costs of attending the whole week.

In both cases successful candidates must submit a comprehensive written report to the RFS within three months of their return and/or an article of not less than 300 words for consideration for publication in the RFS Quarterly Journal of Forestry.

The only eligibility requirement for these bursaries is that candidates must either be current members of the RFS, or work full-time for an RFS corporate member or enclose a completed membership application with the appropriate payment. There are no age restrictions.

Application forms must be returned to RFS Tring by noon on Wednesday 10 March 2010, together with a short C.V. Full details and downloadable forms are available at www.rfs.org.uk/about/bursaries
